Number System: We took our first SLOT quiz on division with decimals. I added this topic to Khan Academy. Many students are struggling with division of decimals. Please refer to your ISN pages 27 and 28 for help.
Equations and Expressions: We used the versatiles to practice solving addition and subtraction equations. Homework is a few handouts on this (see homework attachments). Quiz is tomorrow!

Number System: We are dividing decimals and practiced using whiteboards today.
Equations and Expressions: We are solving addition and subtraction equations without chips but using the inverse operation. Homework is a practice handout (see homework attachments) and some students need to also complete the handout that was started in class.

Number System: We are solving multi-digit division problems in SLOT. Tomorrow will be the final SLOT quiz and homework is a practice handout (see attachments).
Equations and Expressions: We solved one – step addition equations using a model with cup (variable) and chips (numbers) on an equation mat. We drew the models in our ISN page 88. Homework is a handout to draw the models in order to solve the equations (see attachments).

Equations and Expressions: We are writing equations from real life scenarios. Homework is a practice handout (see homework attachments).
Students were given back the district test, combine like terms and CER prompt. If you would like a retake, parent sign and return to me to retake after school this week.

Number System: We are dividing multi digit whole numbers in SLOT.
Equations and Expressions: We are writing expressions and equations. Homework is a handout (see attachments).
Please check student connect to keep up with your child’s scores on recent assessments. The district test answer key portion (show work) is a separate test grade. If there are any quizzes you would like retaken, we can arrange to do so after school if the score is less than 75%. Progress reports will be sent home later this week.

Over the break, please complete 30 minutes on Khan Academy. The topics were printed for you and also are in the homework attachments page. Complete the division mystery picture and show all work on lined paper.

In class, students completed a practice assessment on the equations and expressions unit 3 for the district common assessment tomorrow. The answer key was provided once completed and both are included in the homework attachments.
You can also access the practice test on ilearn to study. District test tomorrow!
Also, the Khan Academy topics were printed and given for reference. Complete 30 minutes but you can earn extra credit if you go over your minutes!

Equations and Expressions: We are reviewing for the district common assessment Friday. Today we took a practice test on ilearn and this test can be reviewed again at home.
Homework is a practice quiz on combining like terms and using the distributive property. This quiz will be tomorrow.
