We started the next unit today, Unit 2, The Number System. Lesson 6 is Understanding Division with Fractions. Please read over the family letter to gain some understanding of this lesson. Homework is practice pages 59-60 (see homework attachments).
The unit test was returned and if you are interested in the retake, you must have all test corrections done and test signed. Retake is Tuesday, December 4 at 3:00.
The season is upon us and there are so many runny noses! Please help and donate tissues for our classroom!
Khan Academy is 30 minutes due this Friday. The window for this assignment is November 16-30. Skills assigned are percent problem topics and the ratio and proportions unit test.

We reviewed and completed a practice test for our first unit on ratio and proportional relationships. The answer key is in homework attachments and the test is tomorrow.

Prodigy assignment on Ratio and Proportions is due tomorrow. There is a Prodigy app that you can download to your phone or tablet that is convenient to use.
Khan Academy is 30 minutes due Friday, November 30. Skills assigned are percent problems, percent word problems and the unit test. Work on this over break, it is good practice for the upcoming unit test!
The homework from Friday was a preview for the upcoming unit test which we will be taking Wednesday after break. We will review and complete a practice test next week.

Homework is to complete the percent problems handout (see homework attachments). Students use multiple strategies which may include using a double number line, chart, multiplying by the fraction or decimal, or others. Show your work with whatever strategies you use even if you use a calculator to help!

Student led conferences
Student led conferences are scheduled this week, please feel free to come Monday or Wednesday. Times are set for 4-7 for Monday, but I will be available from 3:30-6:30. Mrs. Bailey and I will be in my room 41 and the format is student led. Students will pick up their portfolios and share their work and reflections with you. Mrs. Bailey and I will be available to answer any questions or share thoughts with you afterward, but please keep in mind we have a 5 minute limit in order to accommodate all parents. Thank you!
