Study these pictures for the Reindeer Games!

Hello, all!

Wow, it’s cold outside!  Everyone is wearing coats, hats, gloves, scarves and boots!  Don’t forget – when you wear boots, don’t forget to bring shoes to change into when you get to school.  Boots are made to keep your feet warm and when you wear them all day in school, your feet get hot and sweaty (and sometimes stinky), plus your boots bring in snow which melts as you walk and gets the floor wet, so stomp your feet on the rug as you enter the school.  DON’T FORGET TO BRING GYM SHOES ON GYM DAYS WHEN YOU WEAR YOUR BOOTS!

We have been practicing basketball dribble, galloping and jumping rope.  Don’t forget to practice over break because testing will begin the week after we get back from Winter Break.

Next week (Dec 19 – 23) we will be playing Reindeer games during PE Class.  Start practicing those reindeer names.

Healthy Tidbit:

Did you know that you can exercise and play outside in the winter months?  All you need is a little more clothing.  There are lots of ways to exercise in the winter besides walking and running.  How about:  shoveling snow, going ice skating, sledding, snow boarding or skiing, building a snowman or snow fort and, of course, having a snowball fight!  You could also go for a moon walk!  Bundle up really well, grab a flash light (you might need it to see where you are going) and maybe some sort of reflective material or lights to put on your coat, get your parents to go with you and go for a walk in your neighborhood and look at the moon and all of the holiday decorations and lights.   When you are done, go inside to warm up  and have some hot chocolate!  Take time to exercise and have fun outside in the winter!
