Swimming was here, now it’s gone!

Swimming was a lot of fun!  Too bad it can only last 2 weeks – in our case, 3 weeks, due to the Thanksgiving Break.  There was a lot of kicking and bobbing and swimming across the pool.  There was also floating and pool safety and reaching assists.  All students who swam had a good time and improved their swimming skills.  Don’t worry, we’ll be swimming again in the Spring!

Now that swimming is over the skill to practice is basketball dribble!  Did you know that Lebron James was once in elementary school and he wasn’t very good at dribbling the basketball?  How did he get better?  HE PRACTICED!!!!!!  Don’f forget that in order to get better at anything you need to practice!

2nd – 5th grades will also be graded on their jump rope skills, so we will be PRACTICING jumping rope in PE Class!

Now, you know I’m always telling you to eat more fruits and vegetables, right?  Did you know you should have 8 helping of fruits and veggies every day??  A good place to get them is at lunch!!  If you get your lunch at school, Miss Gloria and Miss Kathy always put out FRUITS AND VEGETABLES at every lunch.  When they give you your lunch just keep walking and there they are!  If you bring a lunch to school, instead of chips, ask Mom to include a fruit and vegetable in your lunch everyday!  YUM!!

Also – the snacks provided every day are either a fruit or vegetable.  Eat them!  Try something new!!
