This time of year people across the United States gather with family and friends and celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a time of sharing and laughing and being thankful for the things we have and the people we have in our lives. Think to yourself “what am I thankful for”? Sometimes it’s so simple like family and friends and sometimes it’s so simple we don’t realize how lucky we are. So….in addition to my family and friends, I am thankful for a job I love and that I get to wear gym clothes to work every day! I am thankful to work with a great staff at Henry Ford. I am thankful that the students at Henry Ford love P.E.! I am thankful that I like to exercise and play sports so it’s not a struggle to be active. I’m thankful for the sun that shines and that even if it’s only 15 degrees, it makes me smile. I’m also thankful for the food I am able to buy and the home I live in. I’m also thankful that the Running Club wants to sponsor the Mitten Tree, here, at Henry Ford so we can provide mittens, scarves and hats to those who cannot afford them.
I hope you can find lots to be thankful for. Try to be thankful everyday because there are others that don’t have much to be thankful for.
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you enjoy your break. I know I will!
When we come back to school it’s galloping, basketball dribbling, jumping rope and lots of fun in P.E. Class!!!
Healthy Tidbit: Soda pop might taste good, but it really isn’t good for you! Drinking too much pop can result in erosion of tooth enamel, it cal also lead to overweight or obese children, also when children drink pop, the are consuming lots of sugar and drinking less milk. What can you do instead of drinking pop? Drink water, or milk or lowfat chocolate milk or low sugar 100% fruit or vegetable juices.
