It is funny how in the fall, the kids were at the window all the time watching the construction and seeing what was new. Now, the kids totally ignore the noise of stone being cut right outside our window. Things are moving along.
A Great Day!
We had a wonderful day on Tuesday in Chelsea! We began our day at the Jiffy Mix Factory. We watched a video about the history of the Jiffy Mix Factory while enjoying a brownie and water.
Everyone was excited to put on their hairnets. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed in the factory.
Next, it was on to McDonald’s.
We got back on the bus and drove a short way to Timber Town Park where a great time was had by all.
A big thank you goes to Mrs. Makled for making all the arrangements for our field trip. It was a fun day!!!
Jiffy Mix Factory Field trip

We had a wonderful time preparing for and presenting the fairy tale plays, The Shoemaker and the Elves, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rumpelstiltskin, and The Frog Prince. It was lovely having so many parents, Dr. Moughni, Mrs. Shajira, and other staff stop in to see our plays. The children did a such a great job! Thank you to the PTA for the use of the sound system. Fairy Tale plays coming soon!
Everyone has been working very well together to finish the backdrops for our class plays. We are looking forward to performing the plays at 9:30 and 2:30 on Thursday, May 21. 
May Came Quickly
We had a very educational trip to the Dearborn Fire Safety House. 
We are looking forward to performing out Fairy Tale plays for you on Thursday, May 21 at 9:30 and 2:30. You may choose to come at either time or both. We will do the same plays both times.
Our Jiffy Factory field trip is Tuesday, May 26th and we will be gone from 9:00 to 2:30. If you volunteered to come, please be sure you have a form on file in the office. Thank you.

The Dearborn Historical Museum
We had a very nice morning at the Dearborn Historical Museum. We had the opportunity to plant a corn, pumpkin, or bean seed. Making butter was a favorite of all the students. They enjoyed tasting the butter on a cracker. We visited the Gardner House and saw an interesting way to make toast. We got to see many artifacts from the past in the school room. The students used a slate and chalk, read from a McGuffey Reader, and read a map of the Michigan area. Overall, it was a terrific field trip.
Math Workshop!
Our class loves Math Workshop time! The students rotate in small groups to a variety of math activities that reinforce math skills.
