Classroom News from Room 211

on September 5, 2018

We are off to a great start!

We have been working on getting to know our classmates, learning our classroom routines, and getting started on our 2nd grade curriculum.

Today we took the Reading NWEA and tomorrow we will be taking the Math NWEA! The children are trying their best!

If your child has a reading bag from last year, please send it in. Soon, I will be sending home reading bags with books to practice at home. Students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes a day as part of their homework as well as practice their spelling words.

Weekly Spelling words are in your child’s planner. I will  post them here as well.

Spelling Pattern – CVC – consonant, vowel, consonant with short vowel sounds e,o, and u.

pet, ten, pot, cup, job, wet, hot, pup, sob, pen

Please help your child remember to bring their homework folder and planner to school everyday.

Thank you for the donations of soft soap and Kleenex.  We have plenty of soft soap now. 🙂

I hope to see you at  the Henry Ford Elementary OPEN HOUSE  on Thursday, September 13, from 6:00 – 7:30.
