Weekly Spelling Words

Pattern – pause, cause, fault, launch, law, draw, claw, yawn, lawn,  crawl

Sight – drink, only, warm, done, round

Students need to practice their spelling words daily please. 

Late Start – February 6 – School will begin at 9:40. 

There is a half-day on February 14th, Valentine’s Day for teacher professional development! School will be dismissed at 11:45. 

There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 15 and Monday, February 18 for midwinter break. 

Please make sure your child is reading EVERYDAY at home for  30 minutes (this can be all at once or broken apart).

Weekly Spelling

We will be reviewing last weeks words this week. Many students did very poorly on the test so they will have the opportunity to take the test again on Friday. Spelling is homework everyday just like reading.

There is a half day for students tomorrow, Tuesday, January 22.

We will be continuing to learn about water in science. We will be doing an exploration about erosion.

In Social Studies, we are learning why people form governments.

We go outside for recess everyday if the temperature is above 20 degrees.

Monthly  Parent Meeting – Friday, January 25, at 9:00 am in the cafeteria.

Weekly Spelling Words

Pattern – root, boot, drew, flew, clue, glue, canoe, shoe, fruit, suit

Sight – always, what, every, think, again

We will be taking the NWEA Reading and Math test on Wednesday and Thursday this week. 

Children should get plenty of sleep the night before and eat a good breakfast. 

Please encourage your child to take their time when taking the test and not to rush. 

Half Day – Friday, January 18th teacher duty day

No School – Monday, January 21st Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Half Day – Tuesday, January 22nd Teacher professional development

Classroom News from Room 211

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a safe and restful break! 

This week, we will be getting back into our routines. 

Next week, we have our NWEA reading and math tests. 

Friday, January 18th is a half day for students. Teachers will be working on grades in the afternoon.

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 21st due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

Tuesday, January 22nd is a half day. Teachers have professional development in the afternoon.
