Field trip

Wednesday, May 3, we will be going to the Jiffy Mix Factory in  Chelsea. We will have a tour of the factory then go to a park to eat our bag lunch (no pop or glass please). So far the weather looks pretty good on Wednesday. Those who I contacted by email to chaperon, please be at school by 8:50. We will leave as soon as the bus arrives. We will return to school by 2:30.

This year is flying by. We have 7 weeks of school left ( I can’t believe it! ) and much to do still. Reading remains a main focus as well as getting better at double digit subtraction with regrouping.

Although Dr. Moughni gave the OK to wear shorts, please keep an eye on the weather. We have some cool days still ahead of us.

Sorry to ask again but we are in need of Kleenex.

Thank you for all your support!

NWEA This Week

We will be taking the NWEA reading and math test this week. We will take each test over two days so the students don’t feel rushed.

I know it is lighter later but please try to have a consistent bedtime to be sure your child is getting enough sleep each night. Most children at this age need 10 – 11 hours of sleep a night. Kids who don’t get enough sleep have a difficult time paying attention, acquiring new knowledge, and recalling what they have learned.

Our social studies test will be Thursday afternoon. Everyone was given a study guide last Thursday. Please read it over with them daily.

If you can spare a box of tissue we would appreciate it. We have had a lot of sniffles.
