We are continuing with our cvc and cvce pattern with o this week.
Pattern words – hop, hope, fox, pop, cone
Sight words – cold, open, own, old, hold
Thursday is library day. Please help your child remember to bring their two library books to school.
Reading testing is done. Many students reading levels are lower than they were in the spring. It is very important that students are practicing their reading skills at home as well as in school. We have a lot of ground to make up. Our reading level goal for the end of second grade is level 28. If we work together, we will get there. 
Please encourage your child to read for 20 minutes each day, then color in the pumpkin on their reading log. I received 11 out of 26 reading logs for September.

It is jacket time! The mornings will be quite chilly this week. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather. We go outside everyday weather permitting.
