We will be spending this week getting ready for our spring fairy tale plays by practicing on stage, making costumes, and making our backdrops. This is a great experience for the students to work together to plan the backdrops to match the settings in the plays. Then they will make the backdrops by working together for a common goal.
We will present our plays on Tuesday, May 24 at 10:30 and 2:00. Please be on time the plays are short.
SUMMER READING – Many students started second grade with a lower reading level than they left with in the spring of first grade. This is called “summer slide”. Here is an article that gives parents ideas for preventing summer slide. Please read it and consider ways (going to the library weekly, buying books at garage sales, going to the bookstore) of preventing summer slide for your child.
