Happy Halloween!

We had a very busy day on Friday! We started our day with Apple Day activities. The students enjoyed moving around the classroom to different centers where they were able to learn about apples and Johnny Appleseed, play a math game, measure each other with apples, make applesauce, and taste  3 varieties of apples and graph their favorite.  A big thank you to the moms who helped out!

Students had a chance to cut and glue pumpkins and make Frankenstein. It was really fun! The kids were singing songs they learned in music class.

In the afternoon, we put on our costumes and went to the parade. There was a very large variety of costumes. Some a little scarier than others.

Thank you for all the treats!WP_20151030_017 WP_20151030_020 WP_20151030_027 WP_20151030_029 WP_20151030_036a WP_20151030_032 WP_20151030_005b WP_20151030_002a WP_20151030_007 WP_20151030_008a WP_20151030_015 WP_20151030_013a WP_20151030_012 WP_20151030_016a 0024a WP_20151030_028 WP_20151030_031 WP_20151030_030

Friday News!

It is getting chilly in the mornings. Please send your child to school with a coat.

Starting Monday, October 19, the children will receive a snack at school. I am not sure what kind of snack we will get. In the past, we have gotten apple slices, grapes, strawberries, carrots, etc. You may still send in a healthy snack with your child if you choose.

We will have a social studies test the last week of October. I will send home a study guide next week as part of evening homework.

APPLE DAY is Friday, October 30, from 9:30 to 10:30. I will need parental help to have a successful Apple Day.  If you would like to come in and help, please make sure you have a current volunteer form on file in the office. The forms are good for 3 years.  You will be unable to help in the classroom or attend field trips if the volunteer form is not filled out and on file in the office.
