We had the opportunity to plant a corn, pumpkin, or bean seed.  Making butter was a favorite of all the students. They enjoyed tasting the butter on a cracker. We visited the Gardner House and saw an interesting way to make toast. We got to see many artifacts from the past in the school room.  The students used a slate and chalk, read from a McGuffey Reader, and read a map of the Michigan area.  Overall, it was a terrific field trip.
