Newsletter for the Week of October 14th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our letter of the week was the letter “F”.  We read an interactive letter book, sang letter F songs, stamped the letter, and finger painted
  • Our core vocab word of the week was the word “finish”.  We colored pictures and glued them down when we were finished, we explained when we were finished reading pages in a book, and we said when we were finished eating
  • We read many books including Five Little Bats Flying in the Night, Five Hungry Ghosts, and Go Away Big Green Monster
  • The children finger painted with yellow and red to make orange
  • We took a nature walk and found things that represent fall such as different colored leaves and acorns
  • The students conducted a science experiment with the items we found on our nature walk to see if they would sink or float in water.  Everyone had a chance to make a prediction then we tested each item by putting them in water
  • We found out how many pumpkins tall each student is and practiced counting
