PEEK AT THE WEEK
- Our letter of the week was the letter “Q”. We read an interactive letter book, sang letter Q songs, stamped the letter, and glued down pictures of items that start with the letter to a quilt
- Our core vocab word of the week was the word “quiet”. We practiced being quiet by putting baby dolls to sleep, being quiet in the hallways, and being quiet during silent reading
- We read many books including Clifford, We Love You!, Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse!, and 10 Valentine Friends
- The children made apple cinnamon muffins with Mrs. Gallery, our speech therapist
- We practiced identifying colors with a valentine heart matching game
- The children made Valentine cards for their families
- We played in shaving cream and drew shapes
- The students used q-tips to paint hearts red and decorated Valentine bags
- We got our wiggles out with the trampoline and slide in the classroom during recess
- On Valentine’s Day we passed out our Valentines to our friends and made chocolate strawberry banana smoothies for a special treat!
