PEEK AT THE WEEK
- Our letter of the week was the letter “A”. We read an interactive letter book, sang letter A songs, stamped the letter, and glued down things that start with the letter A to an apple tree
- Our core vocab word of the week was the word “All”. We sang songs with the word “all” such as “Wheels on the Bus” and “We all Fall Down”, we took turns putting all the pegs in the jar, and we read a book during which the students used a voice output device to read the word “all”
- We practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive back to school counting book and for each item we counted on the pages we stacked that many blocks
- We played on the playground
- We read many books including Five Little Monkeys Reading in the Bed, The Napping House, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
- The children drew in their journals for the first time
- Ms. Staci came in a did sensory activities with us such as the steam roller and bouncing on the exercise ball
- We practiced shape recognition with a touch and feel book and shape puzzle
- We reviewed school rules and created a chart of things we do and don’t do at school
- The students practiced eating with utensils at lunch and washing their hands at the sink
