Week of September 3rd

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our theme this week was apples!
  • We read Ten Apples Up on Top during which we practiced using the word “on”, stacking Legos (we used them as our apples), counting, and making patterns
  • The students made apple marble paintings that are hanging in the hall outside our classroom
  • We practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive back to school counting book
  • The children worked on sorting by color
  • We played on the playground every day!
  • The class conducted a science experiment to see if an apple would sink or float.  Everyone had a turn to make a prediction
  • We read an interactive color story and then the students picked their favorite color crayon to color with
  • The students practiced their fine motor skills by cutting a paper apple with their name on it and gluing it back together.  We also worked on identifying the letters in our name during this project
