PEEK AT THE WEEK
- Our theme this week was apples!
- We read Ten Apples Up on Top during which we practiced using the word “on”, stacking Legos (we used them as our apples), counting, and making patterns
- The students made apple marble paintings that are hanging in the hall outside our classroom
- We practiced counting and number recognition with an interactive back to school counting book
- The children worked on sorting by color
- We played on the playground every day!
- The class conducted a science experiment to see if an apple would sink or float. Everyone had a turn to make a prediction
- We read an interactive color story and then the students picked their favorite color crayon to color with
- The students practiced their fine motor skills by cutting a paper apple with their name on it and gluing it back together. We also worked on identifying the letters in our name during this project
- We read many books including Pete the Cat: I love my White Shoes and Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar
