- colonization – the action or process of settling among and establishing control over the indigenous people of an area.
- cash crop – a crop produced for its commercial value rather than for use by the grower.
- establish – set up (an organization, system, or set of rules) on a permanent basis.
- decomposer – an organism that decomposes organic material.
- consumer – is an organism that feeds on plants or other animals for energy
- producer – is an organism, either a green plant or bacterium, which is part of the first level of a food chain.
- solar energy – radiant energy emitted by the sun.
- quadrants – Any of the 4 areas made when we divide up a plane by an x and y axis, and are usually numbered I, II, III and IV.
- coordinate pairs – A pair of numbers used to locate a point on a coordinate plane is called an ordered pair represented by an x and y.
- perspective – a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
- annotate – add notes to (a text or diagram) also giving explanation, comments, or questions you may have as you read.
- strategy – a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal
