First Days of School

We had a great first two weeks of school. I passed out our books and labeled all of our materials and supplies. A big “Thank You” to the parents who donated wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer. You ROCK!

On Tuesday, we started our NWEA testing. This testing is important for me so I can get some baseline data on the students (strengths, weaknesses, etc). The students took the Reading, Math, and Language tests.

Next week, we will be starting reading groups, math centers, working with dividing and multiplying with powers of 10, science experiments, reviewing about our government, as well as writing a narrative piece. We will also begin our bi-weekly spelling and vocabulary. The students will have two weeks to learn the spelling and definitions of 10 academic words. I will post the words separately so please be on the look for that!

Reminder:

OPEN HOUSE:
Wednesday, September 11th ~ 6:00-7:30pm ( Room 237)

Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me via email or phone message: (313) – 827-1800 or sobhn@dearbornschools.org

Have a great weekend!

About the Author

Hello! My name is Mrs. Sobh. This is my seventh year teaching and I love what I do! I graduated from The University of Michigan Dearborn with a Masters degree in Education- My major is language arts and my minor is science. Let me tell me a little about myself☺️ I am married to the love of my life, Mouhamad, and have two beautiful kids, Madleyn, 2, and Baby Moussa ( and yes, we call him that), 4 months. They are my happiness. In my free time I love to spend time with my family, shop , dine, explore new places, and be outdoors! I also enjoy going horseback riding, going for walks, drinking coffee ( lots of it 😍) , Did I mention I love nature! I can basically live outside. The beach is my happy place 🏝 I come from a big family! I have 5 brothers, 2 sisters , and 18 nieces and nephews ( plus one more niece or nephew on the way). I am the youngest of my siblings and I love it! Every child has a right to learn and I have a right to teach! Your child will receive the BEST education in my class! You can rest assured ☺️ since I am a Mother myself, I treat my students as if they were my own kids. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s education and I look forward to a wonderful year together 💚 If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask ☺️

You may type it but you still need to write it out in your journal so you can refer back to it during guided reading.
