What a great tournament.  I am so proud of everyone.  We won both matches decisively.  DuVall was 5 to 1 and Whitmore-Bolles 6 to 0  Congrats to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will be having chess club practice Thursday and next Tuesday.  On March 9th is the City Tournament.  Our A and B teams will be competing only.  We will leave Snow Elementary around 3:35 and weather permitting walk to TenEyke.  This is a big accomplishment.  Only 4 teams from our whole elementary school district competes in this tournament.  Thanks again for a great group of Chess players.

The students are playing well and working hard on their strategies for playing chess.  I want to thank Ted “Grandpa” for coming and helping us with chess.  He is very knowledgeable and we appreciate his great chess playing skills.  I also want to thank Kaitlyn’s mom for supplying and helping me clean all the chess pieces and boards.  Remember our tournaments are around the corner.  Please have your child practice as much as possible.  Thank you and have a great weekend.

Chess Club News for December 10th

Our Chess Club shirts are in and I handed them out to the families who purchased them.  Thank you for supporting our Chess Club.  Your child may proudly wear their Chess Club shirt on practice days but when our tournaments begin I would love to see them be worn at each tournament supporting our Snow School Chess Club.  This week we worked on middle moves and many of the advance players are starting to record their moves.  I also want to thank Kaitlyn Bell’s grandfather for coming in and helping out.  Have a great weekend and see you next Tuesday.
