Free Internet Service & Lunch Program Starting

If you know anyone who does not have Internet service and/ is low income, Comcast is offering Internet services to them for free or reduced cost and is increasing the speed normally available to low income customers. Applicants can visit www.internetessentials.com. Video chat with customer agents in American sign language is also available. Phone numbers are 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.

The DPS leadership is working hard to provide continued breakfast and lunch programs to students. Please check the Dearborn schools website for updates and pass on any updates to neighbors and friends who may not have access to updated information.

Early College Applicants – Check Your Email re: Testing

Dear Students & Parents/Guardians, Your child should have received this notification through their school email because they applied to the Early College. Please read it carefully:

Thank you for taking an interest in our school!  Please do not worry if your application is complete or not.  We are working with your middle school counselor and teachers to make sure each application is complete.Please read below for more information!
Testing is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th on a first come, first serve basis between the hours of 8am – 11am.  Testing will be at the Henry Ford College Main Campus, https://www.hfcc.edu/map/

Building A, lower floor  (In front of the college bookstore “C” and adjoining the Library “B”)  Park in Lot 2 Dearborn,  MI 48128
The test is a reading test to determine the student’s current reading level.  The test is not timed.  However, most students complete the test in an hour or less. 
You will receive your score at the end of the test.  In order to be accepted into the lottery,  8th grade students MUST receive a score of 950 or higher.
We request you bring your School ID, it is preferred, but it is not Mandatory.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 28!
Enrollment
While we do not have a specific date student’s will be chosen for all three high schools, but students are enrolled and have a class schedule before we leave for the summer. 
Our first Orientation is in May and for student’s to meet their teachers and parents to receive the enrollment packet which is due before June 1st. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 28th.

8th Graders! High School Class of 2025 It’s Here!!! Information & Scheduling (deadline is April 9)

OL Smith Class of 2020 Memories

In honor of the 8 Grade Class of 2020 we will be creating memories of the class of 2020. It will be a slideshow presentation to be featured as part of the end of the year activities in June.  You can submit any memories & photos to the “olsmithclassof2020@gmail.com. The pictures will highlight the cherished memories of our graduating students, so students may even want to share some flashbacks photos from earlier years as 6th graders, any fun events, group photos, elementary photos, etc. Email photos no later than May 20th, 2020 and include the student name in the subject line. If you have any questions or concerns please email or see Dr.Elder, Samah Alwahibi or Massa Alshamaa.

Auditions for Edsel Play

Message from Edsel Ford’s Director of Choral Activities and Theatre

The High School Performing Arts Department will be presenting our production of Disney’s “Freaky Friday – A New Musical” in May 8-9 and 15-16. I will be opening up our ensemble to students from grades 5-8 who attend one of our Feeder Schools or have siblings at EFHS. This an opportunity for your 5th-8th grader. There is also one principal role for the younger brother, Fletcher.  (Actor to play 7-10 yr old)  He must be able to sing and use two different hand puppets. 
Auditions will be held on Thursday 5 March from 4-6 pm.  Interested students who can not attend during that time need to contact Mr. Doyle. Audition materials will be taught at the audition. Students should be prepared to read from the script, sing, and dance.Students do NOT need to have previous experience, only a willingness to commit to working on the show and learn.
