Dear World, From Smith Students
Dear World, When my kids come home and complain about simple things, I will tell them that 25 years ago we didn’t have this because if this and also say that the children should be grateful for what they have. What small thing I did to help during this time – I.e.: stop whining, cook dinner, pray for…., check on my grandmother/neighbor who lives alone, post a message on Instagram for the doctors & nurses. Dear World, What I will tell my family in 25 years when they read about us in history is. Doctors nurses sacrifices they made to keep people safe it was such a hard time in the world and people’s family lots of people died. And it was a lot of stress no one knew who had the Virus. You could easily get it and hospitals were filled with many sick people.Even in New York there were hospitals outside stores and supermarkets along with streets empty due to quarantine. Dear World, What I think of your sacrifices is that you’re more than just something to me, you are also my home.
What I will remember of your sacrifice is everything you’ve been doing.
What I will tell my family in 25 years when they read about us in history that when all of your people chickened out, you stood in the face of reality,
What I want front liners to know there is no better place than here.
When my kids come home and complain about simple things, I will tell them about how you faced something nearly impossible and yet didn’t complain.
What small thing I did to help during this time is be patient and not complain.

Dear World, From Smith Students
Dear World, I want front liners to know that I thank them for their sacrifices and their hard work for this pandemic to stop so we can live a normal life. This pandemic has scared the world for their family. Covid 19 has stopped the world from moving; it has keeped us from society. H.A. 6th grader
Dear World, I want front liners that focus on all the bad things that happen right now to try to focus on the better things. With all that is happening and all negative things happening to try to stay a bit happier. When you see a front liner that talks about what is happening right now it would make you feel a little bad. However, if we try our best to fix a negative situation like this happening only with some help we can make people’s day better. If we can distract ourselves and focus on other things or do simply things that make us happy that would be great. If we can show happiness then that will affect other people too. Dear World,
What I will tell my family in 25 years when they read about us in history is what we had to do during the Corona virus outbreak. When my kids come home and complain about simple things. I will tell them what we had to go through with the Corona virus outbreak. A small thing I did to help during this time was help my brother with his homework. Signed – A.O. Dear World, I will always remember this time that everything changed over night. I woke up in the morning to get ready for school on March 12, 2020 and my mom told me that I can go back to sleep because school is cancelled due to the Corona virus. That was when everything started to change. All of a sudden we couldn’t go anywhere and only my mom would leave to get groceries. I started to see the world changing day by day, more and more of the unknown. We prayed for the doctors, nurses, sick people, elderly, grocery store workers. Things that we took for granted closed, people lost their jobs, and then the worst started happening, more and more people were dying every day. I feel sad, and worried that things will never be the same. I feel like this will be the new way of life. I believe that everyone made sacrifices and the doctors, and all of the healthcare professionals are heroes. M.E., 6th grade

Dear World, We are living through pretty tough times right now. Because of corona virus we can’t see friends, have lots of homework, and people are under a lot of pressure. In the future when we all have kids, and they are stressed out and don’t want to do their school work, just remind them of these hard times and the motivation that made you power through it all. We are currently living through history. To all the people out there who do not have faith right now, just let them know to stay strong, and encourage them to keep on going. And love your family.
