Nov 8th A Neighbor Thanks You for Your “Labor of Love.”

Today NJHS & Smith students joined volunteers to rake for a senior. Armed with rakes, students worked tirelessly raking leaves for a senior neighbor. Thank you to Ms. Janet Damien, a former Smith Alum and Smith neighbor who helped identify the home and joined us in raking. Ms. Damien, is also the angel who volunteered to save Smith’s garden. It warmed our hearts that this group of students were able to extend a “labor of love” in the name of community service. Our neighbor was very grateful for the service.

As we continue to work through these unprecedented times, some families continue to experience challenges. You may already have built in an effective routine and structure to support your family and we are seeing during their virtual learning. Feel free to share some of the things working well for you, we would like to hear your thoughts. If you need support please reach out to us. Smith has a variety of resources and supports in place. We would love to partner with you to support your child. Feel free to reach out. There is an easy reader attached as families around the country have different experiences.

Oct 11th Smith Is Off To A Great Start

Parents have asked about accessing Schoology for assignments, lessons, discussions, etc. Well, it is now available to parents in the link update

Please note that as you continue to use both Schoology, you can also use Parent Connect; however, updates may appear later in Parent Connect/Student Connect as work in Schoology is reviewed by teachers, it is then be entered in MiStar (Parent Connect/Student Connect. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the teacher or the counselor if you have questions or need support.

As we all continue to navigate these unprecedented times, the entire Smith staff and administration are working hard for our students, while they navigate these times within their own families. “We are all in this together.”
