Jan 29th Henry Ford Early College Applications are Out! Deadline is March 1, 2020

8th graders interested in getting free college and earn an Associate Degree through the Early College Program have until March 1st, 2021 to apply. An Associate Degree will allow you to transfer to a 4 year university or begin a career earning a starting salary.  Check your school email for the link to the application. It is a very easy application process.  Families will also receive this information via email if we have an email was provided. See the school counselor for more information.

Jan 22nd Semester 1 Ends With A New Beginning

Academic Reset =Perfect Attendance & Passing All Classes

1. Grades & Attendance are reset
2. Get a Jump Start 
3. Don’t Wait to get help – Smith has several options in place for students needing extra support. In school (Learning Labs) and after school & weekend tutoring options.
4. Monitor those Non School tabs – Studies suggest that kids who regularly play video games are at an increased risk for developing attention problems at school and lower academic grades.

Dec 17th Student Service Leaders Send Message of Get Well

NJHS students created get well messages to a senior member of the Smith community who became ill with Covid. The heartwarming message touched this family who responded with gratitude. Thank you to all service volunteers and front line workers.

Dec 3rd YOU’VE PASSED THE 1/2 WAY MARK

Vikings You have all passed the 1/2 mark. There are 4 weeks left in Semester 1. Turn in those missing assignments, show up to Learning Labs, come to Sunday Tutoring/Mentoring support, ask a question, get help or enjoy a comfortable place to work. The College tutors are Awesome, you’ll get one on one help! We will be there to support you from 12:30-2:30 pm every Sunday and can spend as much or as little time you need. Ask Ms. Elder Or Coach Mo for the Zoom link. There are limited spots available.

Nov 17th CALLING ALL FORMER NJHS MEMBERS! PLEASE CONTACT SMITH

We are looking for all former NJHS members to join us in this year’s 2020 Virtual NJHS Induction Ceremony, December 2, 2020 at 6pm. If you were a member or know someone who was a Smith NJHS member, we are asking former members to send us a photo, image, quote or personal message to pass on to our new inductees. The hundreds of hours of community service for wonderful causes is the reason Smith is one of the most active chapters in our area.
