TRAVEL THE WORLD

IN METRO DETROIT

7^th Graders – Would you like to take a Religious Journey around the world? Seven students who are open to meet students from the metro Detroit area and experience world of diversity will be selected.  This year 700  7^th graders from around the metro area will benefit from the one-of-a-kind, immersive, interfaith literacy and diversity appreciation curriculum and learn about culture, religion & faith traditions. An amazing experience!  Interested students pick up an application outside the counseling office.  

This years trips will be:

1. Sikhism – November 8, 2019
2. Christianity – December 10, 2019
3. Judaism – January 7, 2020
4. Islam – January 29, 2020
5. Holocaust Memorial Center Journey – February 28, 2020
6. Hinduism – March 24, 2020

Submission of names on this form is the only way names will be accepted, and nametags produced, this year. Click here for the new nametag form.    7 students per school.           PIck up the packet from the counseling office:

SPECIAL NOTES:

• Equitable access and opportunity are important – Please share with all 7th grade students by posting on your monitors, advisory announcements and/or morning broadcast.  Last year, a few parents called me to express that their child knew nothing about the opportunity.  Spread the news!!!
  • Each school has 7 open slots for student participation
  • We need staff chaperones from the schools.   In the past Ms. Kincaid has attended EVERY journey.  THANK YOU !!!  However, this year her schedule has changed at Unis.  Our program works because we have dedicated staff members that consistently assist us.  Please indicate the staff member that can join us from your school.  It doesn’t have to be the same person for each journey.
  • Parents are always welcome to attend as well
  • A bus departs ASC @ 8:30 sharp & returns by 2PM
  • A vegetarian lunch is provided on each journey
  • All information must be entered by Friday, October 4, 2019
