Dear World, From Smith Students
I will always remember this time that everything changed over night. I woke up in the morning to get ready for school on March 12, 2020 and my mom told me that I can go back to sleep because school is cancelled due to the corona-virus. That was when everything started to change. All of a sudden we couldn’t go anywhere and only my mom would leave to get groceries. I started to see the world changing day by day, more and more of the unknown. We prayed for the doctors, nurses, sick people, elderly, grocery store workers. Things that we took for granted closed, people lost their jobs, and then the worst started happening, more and more people were dying every day. I feel sad, and worried that things will never be the same. I feel like this will be the new way of life. I believe that everyone made sacrifices and the doctors, and all of the healthcare professionals are heroes. M. E., Smith 6th grader.
