Matter test: Tuesday October 23rd

Use your INB and iLearn to study for the test. The test consists of a multiple choice question and short answers on matter and thermal energy .  Study the vocabulary (need/nice to know), reflections of each lesson, and watch the videos and resources provided on ilearn.

iLearn codes per hour:

Second hour : Yqraar    Third hour 3vqj6r      Fourth hour Cqenbv   Sixth hour Rquqtr

Essential quesiton: what are the properties of matter? how is matter affected by thermal energy?

Focus questions:

  1. How does temperature affect matter?( heating and cooling of solids, liquids and gases) Review the bottle-balloon and collapse of a tanker car activities.
  2. what are the properties of matter in terms of particle motion, arrangement, and forces of attraction.
  3. be able to develop models using circles, arrows, and arrangement to show a particulate model of a real life example (e.g thermometer, expansion of a balloon)
  4. be able to identify states of matter using models using evidence /interpretation.( I see,,,I think,,,)
  5. Understand the Kinetic Molecular Theory and be able to evaluate statement whether true or false.
  6. What is air pressure?
  7.  what factors affect air pressure?  Phet simulation on gas properties.
  8. Be able to identify and explain evidence to support a claim. CER
