Apr 30th A Note From Mr. Attee about Math Book/ Remote Learning Materials Distribution – Tuesday, May 5th

DuVall Families,

In order to assist families with the continuation of remote learning, our staff has gathered student math books that we are planning on distributing on Tuesday, May 5^th.  At this time, the math books along with some specific grade level supplies (and registration information for next year) will be distributed for each student.  Personal items that were not picked up on March 13^th will not be distributed at this time.  Parents and students will not be allowed to enter the building as the learning resources will be brought to your vehicle by a staff member.  We are going to follow the same safety protocols that were used with the chromebook distribution. 

Parents will drive up to the bus lane on Francis Street near the preschool door (door 4) on Tuesday, May 5th.  Please follow traffic rules and allow for distance between vehicles while the materials distribution is taking place. If your family has multiple siblings in our building, please indicate the names of the students so that you can make one trip.

Apr 23rd Today’s Lesson – 4/23

Today the students and I used a book to practice asking and answering questions. We use the questions as clues to figure out what the animal was on the next page. This is good practice paying attention to our reading to strengthen our reading comprehension.

Homework: Still go on your “Bear Hunt” and see if you can find any bears in windows. Also, create a new page for the book by writing a clue and drawing a picture to go with your clue.

Apr 23rd DuVall Chromebook Distribution planned for Monday, April 27th

Please fill out this form if you would like to reserve a Chromebook on loan for your child. To take the DuVall Chromebook survey, please click here. Please complete this survey by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 24th as this will provide our staff with enough time to prepare the necessary number of Chromebooks based on the anticipated number of requests. The survey above must be filled out in order to make a reservation for a Chromebook on loan – we will not be able to distribute additional on-the spot requests as it takes time to prepare each of the Chromebooks.

Chromebooks must be returned to the school on the first day Dearborn Public Schools reopen after this mandatory shutdown. Students must follow Dearborn Public Schools Acceptable Use policy and guidelines. The family borrowing the Chromebook agrees to understand that they are responsible for any damage to the Chromebook. The Chromebooks on loan are for current DuVall students only.  :

Parents will drive up to the bus lane on Francis Street near the preschool door (door 4) on Monday, April 27th.  Parent/ Guardians must have a Driver’s ID.  A DuVall staff member will bring the parent our Chromebook Loan agreement to the car along with the Chromebook, have the parent sign it, and then collect the signed agreements as a record of our Chromebooks that have been distributed.  Please follow the schedule of distribution for classes below so that we can have an orderly distribution of the Chromebooks on loan – there is a limit of one Chromebook on loan per family.
