Earth Day Fun and “Going on a Bear Hunt”
Happy Earth Day!
I thought this was a cute poem (it’s sunny today in Pellston, MI, I guess it’s cloudy in Dearborn).
I Meant To Do My Work Today
by Richard Le Gallienne
I meant to do my work today,
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand–
So what could I do but laugh and go?
I found this poem from this website that has a lot of fun things to do if you are looking for craft ideas, puzzles, poems, coloring sheets, etc. It had some fun stuff on it: Earth Day Crafts, Worksheets, Games and Activities It says “Earth Day,” but a lot of the material (like the poem above) is spring/summer related.
HOMEWORK
Remember to do your homework from our virtual classroom meeting on Tuesday. Please put a stuffed bear in your front window and then “go for a bear hunt” (walk the neighborhood looking for stuffed bears in windows). I will ask you on Thursday at 11 if you saw any bears in the windows!
“We’re Going On A Bear Hunt” Animated Story
Have a great Wednesday and I will see you tomorrow at 11!
