Hello Parents and Guardians,

NEED TO KNOW:

  1. The superintendent’s blog about the Corona Virus: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgxwGDWxRwMvxpbfZFXGzzMZvqLjx
  2. We will have Literacy Night on Thursday, March 5th 5:00 – 6:00 PM
  3. There is a ½ day on Friday, March 13th.
  4. There is a late start on Wednesday, March 18th.
  5. Spring Break is the week of April 6th-10th.

SPELLING:  This week’s words will have a “ow” sound at the end of the word. Our words are: owl, how, now, down, town, plow, frown, tower.  Our bonus words: over, under.

WRITING:  We are going to work on informational writing.  We will learn about a topic and write a report about it.

READING:  We are still going to work on the same skills as last week’s due to snow days: Students will learn the different ending sounds (blends and digraphs) to strengthen their reading skills. This week we will continue to work on learning how to analyze the author’s purpose for writing the text and learn how to describe an author’s purpose for using specific illustrations.

MATH:  We are working on our Module 3 and we are learning about measurement.  Students should complete lessons 1-12 by the end of the week.

SCIENCE:   We will continue to finish our unit about how the “Earth moves in the sky.”

SOCIAL STUDIES:  We work on our maps unit. Students will have a paper they will take home to write their address and at least one phone number they have memorized. Students will be tested on this information.

We will have another great week!

Ms. Sims
