Week of November 18th – November 22nd
Hello Parents and Guardians,
NEED TO KNOW:
- This year’s fifth annual Battling Against Hunger drive is a cooperative effort between Dearborn, Edsel Ford and Fordson high schools, with help from the elementary and middle schools that feed into those buildings.We will be helping Edsel Ford with collections The drive runs from Nov. 18-22nd. The goal is to collect 30,000 canned goods for Zaman International and $7,600 for the Amity Foundation. The class that collects the most cans at DuVall will win a pizza party. Thanks for your help!
- Thanksgiving break starts at the end of school on Tuesday, Nov 26th. We are off on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. School resumes Monday, DECEMBER 2nd (this year is flying by!).
- Late start December 18th.
SPELLING: We will be working on the “sh” words. Our words are: she, show, ship, shop, wish, dish, push, brush. Our extra words are: seven, eight.
WRITING: We will work on writing our opinion pieces.
READING: We will learn how to understand the author’s purpose of writing the informational piece, which means we will be learning how to interpretation of information in non-fiction reading. We will be learning more about verb tenses.
MATH: We will start Module 2. It is an introduction to place value through addition and subtraction within 20.
SCIENCE: We are focusing on Social Studies.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are going to work on our lessons on Family History.
