About Me

Teaching

Hi! My name is Joseph Sicheneder and I’m currently one of the ninth grade science teachers at Fordson High School in Dearborn.

I’m originally from Rochester Hills, a suburb north of here. I went to school at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, where I got a Bachelor of Science degree in Evolutionary Anthropology and German.

After working for a while as a street and sidewalk technician, I decided to become a teacher. I went to the University of Michigan – Flint for two years and got a Master’s in Education. Then I started teaching in Detroit, since 2014. I’ve taught pretty much every science subject at one point or another.

Life

I’m 30 years old already somehow.

I have a dog named Wizard. He’s a nice little guy.

I also got married in June last year, which is pretty great. We also had a ceremony in Jodhpur, India, because my wife’s family is Indian.

We like to travel. I’ve been to a lot of places already, and until the COVID-19 crisis had plans to go to other countries. I also really like cooking and eating delicious food, playing guitar, reading books, and playing video games (mostly on the PC).
