Open House

Snow School’s Open House is Thursday, September 17th from 5:30-7:00 p.m.  Please feel free to come and meet teachers, see classrooms, and tour the school with your child.

Homework 9-10-15

Today is the first time students have an assignment for homework.  We reviewed “Number Grids” from second grade and explored how to fill in an empty grid.  Students should complete HomeLinks 1.2 that was sent home today and return it to school tomorrow.

I also sent home a letter that explains how to use the math website www.everydaymathonline.com.  Students and parents often find this website helpful when there is a question about a concept learned in class.  It also has some wonderful games that will strengthen student’s math skills.

Students should also read for 15-20 minutes every night!

Thank you to the families that returned all required paperwork.  If you have not turned in the Student Information Sheet or Student Emergency Card, please do so as soon as possible.  If you are opting out of eating breakfast at school, you must sign and return the form that was sent home on Wednesday.  Also, families must fill in and return one free and/or reduced lunch form per family as soon as possible if they want to see if they qualify.

Thank you to the wonderful families that have already donated supplies to our classroom.  I can tell that we have a very caring group of families in our class this year!

Welcome to the Blog

Thank you to those parents who have already signed up for my blog.  This is my main communication tool with parents.  I will make a weekly post every Monday to inform parents of important events and tests that will take place during the week.

Please take the time to look through the papers that were sent home today, and fill out the Student Information Sheet (front and back) to help me get to know your child.  If you do not want your child to participate in the breakfast program, you need to fill out the paper that was sent home today from the office to opt out of the program.

I’m looking forward to a great year with your children!!!

Year End Clean-up

Tomorrow is our Year End Clean-up!  Students will be emptying out their desks and bringing lots of things home.  You may want to send an extra bag to school with your child tomorrow.  Students do not need to bring their backpacks or anything to school with them on Wednesday (the last day of school).  Remember that Wednesday is a half day and students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

Field Trip update

All permission slips and field trip money are due on Thursday, June 4th.  If a parent wants to chaperone, they must have an updated background check on file at least 10 days prior to the field trip.

Parent chaperones who have a membership may use their card to get into the village for free.  You may also use the card to get your child in for free as well.  However, all students must ride the bus.  Sorry for any confusion.
