Tomorrow (Tuesday) is our bowling field trip to Ford Lanes.  Thank you to the wonderful parents who signed up to chaperone.  A letter is coming home today with directions.  Please be in our classroom by 9:10 since the bus plans to leave by 9:15.  As a chaperone, you may only drive your own child to the field trip.  All students must return to school after the field trip.  Please do not buy any other food/drinks for your child.  They will all receive 2 slices of cheese pizza and Sprite to drink.  If you have already paid for pizza for yourself, you will receive that tomorrow.  Otherwise parents can buy their own pizza/drink at the bowling alley.  Since this is a school function, parents and children are not allowed to go into the bar area.  Parents will not be bowling…you will be the cheerleaders for your team!  Please have your child wear socks to school tomorrow for bowling.  We will be doing cosmic (glow in the dark) bowling, so wearing white is encouraged:)

All animal dioramas were due today.  We will be displaying them in the art room Tuesday and Thursday for K-2 grade classrooms to visit and learn about the animals we studied.  Afterwards, dioramas and research projects will be sent home.

The Snow School picnic is this Friday, June 10th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Pre-sale tickets are on sale, otherwise you can buy tickets at the picnic.

PTA NEWS:  Attention Parents!

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and so is our Annual End-of-the-Year Picnic!  we are always looking for volunteers to help the picnic go off without a hitch!  We have plenty of open spots still available for the evening.  If anyone can help, please sign-up using the sign-up genius link:

We are looking for a few donations for the evening as well:  baked goods for our dessert table, along with juice boxes, water and soda.  If you are able to donate any of these items, please deliver by 3:30pm the day of the picnic.  We are also looking for crockpots to help cook the hotdogs at the picnic.  If anyone has one they are willing to let us borrow that evening, please let us know.  We’ll need that by 2pm that day.

We are having our last PTA meeting of the year on Tuesday, June 7th at 6pm.  We will also be packing all of the preorders and putting together the raffle baskets that day.  Please come join us for the meeting and stay after to help us finalize last-minute picnic details.  Any and all help is welcome.

Warm Weather Dress Code Reminders

Warm Weather Dress Code Reminders

Now that warmer weather is here, please be aware that the Dearborn Schools Student Code of Conduct requires that student clothing should be “modest and avoid distracting influences.”

For your child’s safety and comfort, we ask that students wear shoes that are appropriate for running and playing on the playground instead of flip flops.  Please also refrain from allowing students to wear shirts with spaghetti straps and we ask that girls wear shorts under their skirts or dresses.

Thanks!

Dr. Groover
