Field trip to the DIA

Field Trip tomorrow

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, is our 4th grade field trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts.  Students should wear comfortable shoes and clothing for walking.  Students must bring a packed lunch from home.

If you have volunteered to be a parent chaperone, please check into the office in the morning, then head down to our classroom by 9:00 a.m.  We will go over some basic rules for the DIA.  If you have a background check on file, you are more than welcome to ride with the students on the bus, or you can drive separately and meet us at the DIA.  Thank you to all of the wonderful parents who have volunteered to chaperone.  It will be an educational and fun field trip!

Spring Break ideas

Just a reminder that schools are closed next week (April 3-7) for Spring Break.  Students should continue to go onto MyOn and MobyMax for the MobyMax challenge which ends after break.

4th grade will begin M-Step testing the week of May 2nd.  We have begun practicing in the classroom, but I encourage students to visit the practice website at home over the vacation.  You can access it through the Dearborn Schools Website at www.dearbornschools.org.  Go to Students and find the link labeled “Training Sites”.  Once you click on it you will be directed to the M-Step training website.  Or you can go to https://wbte.drcedirect.com/MI/portals/mi.

The Annual Snow School Picnic is scheduled for Friday, May 19th.  We are continuing the tradition of creating Raffle Baskets, however this year it will be one basket created per grade level.  The 4th grade’s Raffle Basket theme is “Sports”.  Over the vacation, if you happen to see something interesting to add to our Sports Theme basket, feel free to purchase it and bring it into school after the break.  It can be anything from sports equipment, sports posters, something from your favorite sports team, anything would be greatly appreciated.  Let’s work together to create an awesome raffle basket!

Enjoy your time off with your children and have fun!

Outside line up starts after break

Greetings Parents,

Starting after the break, April 10, we will be doing morning lineup outside.  Students will line up outside with their classes, stand for the pledge and the school pledge.  Students will then enter the building with their teachers.
Just a reminder that students should be lined up at 8:35am.  We have Kids Club for students that need to be here earlier.  For safety reasons, we need to make sure that students are not unattended.
If you arrive after students have entered the building, please ring the buzzer and sign-in in the main office.
Thank your cooperation!
Regards,
Amal Alcodray
Interim- Principal
Snow School

Things to remember…

Dearborn Public Schools are off next week, April 3-April 7.  We will see everyone back at Snow School on Monday, April 10.  We will be resuming OUTDOOR lineup at that time.  Please have your Snow students line up outside in the morning.  Second through fifth grades will line up on the blacktop at the back playground.  Kindergarten and first grade, AND Mrs. Grizzell’s class will resume lining up outside the office on that blacktop.  Thanks for your help making this transition!
