Raffle Basket Donations for Picnic

Reminder that we are collecting donations for our end of the school picnic.  4th grades theme is “Roblox/Legos” and 5th grades theme is “Gift Card Tree”.  Please send in any donations by MAY 29th so the PTA has time to get the raffle baskets ready for the June 8th picnic.

Reminder that this Wednesday, May 16th is a LATE START.  The first bell will ring at 9:35 a.m.

Reminder that 5th graders need to turn in their Stout Elective Form by this Friday, May 18th.

5th grade students should wear their Snow Class of 2018 blue shirt next Tuesday, May 22nd for our annual 5th grade picture.

4/5 Snow Concert is next Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m.  More information should be coming home from Mr. Stinson and Ms. Oren.

NWEA testing begins this week.  We will take the ELA NWEA this Thursday, then continue over the next few weeks with Math, Science and Language.  It is your child’s goal to show at least a year’s growth since the Fall 2017 tests.  A report will be sent home at the end of the year with your child’s final report card.

Stout Elective Sheets

All 5th graders received a packet today during our Stout Orientation.  In the packet, they need to fill out their choice for electives for 6th grade and return the paper to school by Friday, May 18th.  If they do not make a choice of electives, Stout will choose for the student.  So think carefully, make your choice, and return your paper to school.

The folder also contains a suggested supply list, health appraisal, and a pre-participation physical.  Questions can be answered during the Stout Parent Orientation on May 31st from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Week of May 7-11

Reminder that the 5th grade concert for Band/Orchestra is tonight at Edsel Ford.  Students should arrive at 6:00 and the performance is at 6:30 p.m.

Reminder that this Friday, May 11th is the 6th grade orientation for our 5th graders from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  We will be going to Stout on a bus.  Please turn in your permission slip if you haven’t already done so.

Thank you to the Eljahmi family for donating a box of tissue to the classroom.

Reminder that the 4th graders are taking the Math M-Step this Tuesday and Wednesday.  If students do not complete it by then, they will be pulled out of the room on Thursday to complete the test.

Upcoming dates:  5th grade class picture on May 22nd.  Wear your class of 2018 Snow Shirt.  4/5th concert on May 23rd.  More information to come from Mr. Stinson and Ms. Oren.

If any students need another copy of the upcoming musical lyrics, please go to Mr. Stinson’s blog.  The password to access the information is “howl5”.  Students were already given a copy of the music.  If they have lost it, they will have to print another copy from home.

5th grade Band/Strings concert on Monday, May 7th

Our Band and Strings classes have been working so hard this year. Students learned how to play their instrument, read music, and work together. We look forward to presenting what we can do together at two music concerts!
