Penny Wars Starts TODAY!

Instead of a fall fundraising sale, Snow PTA is having a Penny War between the classes.  Each classroom will complete to see who has the most points.  Pennies and bills added to your classroom’s jug will ADD points.  Silver coins – nickels, dimes and quarters – added to a jug SUBTRACT points.  (So put those in with another class.)  Collection jugs will be located outside the office.  The winning class will receive a special prize.

Penny Wars continues through Nov. 16.  We will post periodic updates on the blog and the PTA Facebook page (open to all parents and staff).  Start sending that loose change!

Reminder that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow (Tuesday 11/6) due to Election Day.

Reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are this Thursday 11/8, next Tuesday 11/13, and next Thursday 11/15.  Please check your reminder slip or my earlier post on this blog for your correct date and time.  It is important to be on time:)  Report cards will be passed out and discussed at conferences.

Our class will be starting Module 2 (Unit Conversions and Problem Solving with Metric Measurement) in Eureka Math this week.  Please check the blog for posts on Parent Tip Newsletters to help your child at home.

To check your child’s spelling test that we take every Friday, have your child log on to iLearn from a home computer and they can show you their test on the computer/tablet.  Simply go to dearbornschools.org and click on iLearn.  Your child will have to enter their student number and password.  Students also have activities to complete each week for spelling.  They are given time in class, however they can also complete these activities at home.  If the activities are not completed in class by Thursday, students must complete them at home.

There will be a Social Studies Vocabulary quiz tomorrow (Tuesday).  Students can use their S.S. notebooks that have word cards #1-34 glued in, or they can use the Quizlet practice website which can be accessed through my Google Classroom.  Students have already been studying in class on Quizlet.

We will building chain reactions in Science on Thursday.  Students may bring in items from home to be part of their team’s chain reaction.  Suggested items are dominoes, toy cars, things that roll or can be knocked down.  All items will be returned after the team’s chain reactions have been tested.
