Next Friday, December 21st I plan on doing a math activity with the students.  I am in need of store advertisements/fliers (for example:  Target, Meijer, Walmart, ect.).  Students will be cutting out pictures and prices from the advertisements, so they will not be returned.  Please send in any donations by next Thursday.

We are currently studying Module 3 in Math which involves multiplication and will soon get into division.  As students finished 3rd grade, they should have memorized all of their multiplication facts up to 10’s.  In order to learn multi-digit multiplication in 4th grade, students must continue to have these facts memorized.  Please practice multiplication at home with your child.  We will take a weekly multiplication quiz every Friday to see if students are improving on their facts.  You can have your child go onto MobyMax and go to Fact Fluency to practice at home, or the website https://www.arcademics.com/ is a fun way to practice speed and accuracy of multiplication facts.

Reminder that this coming Thursday, December 6th is our 4th grade field trip to Legoland.  Students must pack a lunch to bring on the field trip.  Parent chaperones should check in at the office and head down to our classroom at 9:00 a.m. to find out which students are in your group and to hear instructions.  There is enough room for parents to ride the bus, however parents can drive independently if they wish.  It is going to be an educational and exciting field trip.

This Friday, December 7th is Popcorn Day and Book Bingo in the evening!

Students should be keeping up on their Reading Log and Reading Bag Assignments.  Student should read 20-30 minutes every night in order to improve their reading skills which will be tested on the next NWEA in January.

Holiday Shop

The Holiday Shop will be at Snow from December 11th to December 13th. We are using a different company this year and they have some great new products for our kids to purchase. They also have gift certificates available for purchase online so if you don’t want to send the kids with cash this is a great option. Information will be sent home next week including the time the classes will be shopping. We have created a sign up for volunteers to help during shopping hours. If you are available to help please sign up, we can’t do events like this with out great parents like you!
