Anti-Bullying Presentation

Today we had two young ladies visit us to do an Anti-Bullying Presentation in our classroom.  They were USA National Miss Michigan Jr. Teens, Ms. Dayle and Ms. Elizabeth.  They talked to the students about stopping bullying and how to prevent bullying.

Week of June 10-14

Happy Last Week of School!

Students will begin bringing home items from their desks each day.  Please make sure your child brings a backpack to school so they can carry these items home.  Students do not need to bring a backpack to school on Friday.

Reminder that our 4th grade Picnic to Ten Eyck is this Thursday, June 13th.  If the weather is bad, the students will stay at school and we will have different activities for them to choose from in Ms. Shene’s class, Ms. Guadiana’s class, and Mrs. Majetic’s class.  Students must bring a sack lunch from home on Thursday.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, is our 5th grade vs. teachers kickball game from 2:15-3:15 p.m.  We encourage students to bring a water bottle and a blanket to sit on as they will be watching the game on the grass in the sun.

Reminder that all school materials must be returned this week (library books, reading bags, classroom books, dry erase boards, etc.).

Reminder that Friday, June 14th is the last day of school and it is a half day.  Students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

The fourth and final report card will be coming home at the end of the week along with your child’s NWEA scores and final iReady Diagnostic test scores.  A letter will accompany this about expected work to be completed over the summer.

Students will be exchanging autographs this Wednesday.  Your child can bring in anything they would like their friends to sign, or they will make a small autograph foldable in class.

Thank you to all of the families that donated items and volunteered their time at last Friday’s Snow School Picnic.  The students had a wonderful time!

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Calling all parents!!!
The PTA will be providing the postponed teacher appreciation lunch on Tuesday, June 11th. Instead of asking for food donations, we will be asking for monetary donations in order to cater a lunch for our fabulous school staff!
If you would be willing to contribute, please send money in an envelope addressed to PTA. Michelle Giles and Gina Petersen will also be happy to accept donations at the picnic tonight.
Thank you so much for helping to show appreciation to our teachers who have worked so hard this school year! ❤🌮

Week of June 6-7

No more spelling words!

All Reading Bags and books are due tomorrow, Friday, June 7th.

The PTA is still in need of volunteers for the Snow School Picnic tomorrow.  If you can volunteer for just one hour, please sign up at the link below:

The fourth grade classes (Shene, Guadiana, Majetic) are taking an end of the year picnic at Ten Eyck park on Thursday, June 13th.  Students must have a permission slip signed by a parent in order to attend.  We will leave Snow around 9:45 a.m and return at about 2:00 p.m.  We will be walking, so students should wear comfortable shoes.  Students will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink.  We encourage students to bring play equipment such as Frisbees, jump ropes, footballs, soccer balls, board games, crafts, books, and a beach towel or blanket.  Items students may NOT bring are baseballs, bats, hockey equipment, rollerblades, skateboards, bikes, squirt guns, or electronics.  Sunscreen is advisable, however, it must be applied BEFORE coming to school.  Students will not be allowed to bring/apply sunscreen at school or the park.  Due to school rules, all students must walk to and from the park with the group.  Teachers cannot release students from the park, therefore parents may NOT take their child home from the park.  We would like to invite parents to join us.  It is a lot of fun so please feel free to join us at any time during the day at the park.  Even if you can only stop by for a short time, we would love to see you!
