Students MUST have their Student Planners signed by a parent every night.

Students must keep up with their Reading Bag assignments. Students should be reading 30 minutes every night and filling in their Weekly Reading Logs. All Weekly Reading Logs are due on Monday.

We our ending our Module 2 Unit in Math this week. Students will complete a Study Guide in class on Tuesday and the test will be on Thursday. Please make sure to study with your child to help them be prepared for the test on Thursday.

Our DTE Think Energy Presentation is this Wednesday, October 9th. If you do NOT want a FREE energy kit, please return the blue opt out form by Wednesday morning.

Please update any Student Emergency Forms that were sent home last week and return them to school as soon as possible.

All library books are due back on Monday. Students may not check out new books if they have not returned their old books.

Reminder that this Friday, October 11th is a HALF DAY. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 am.

Read at Home Plan

Dear Snow Families,

A reminder about our Read at Home Plan.  Every Snow student should go home with “Good Fit” Books daily! “Good fit” books are books that are not too hard and not too easy.  The expectation is that students improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading.

Snow School Read at Home Plan

  1. Reading Book Bags will go home daily with “Good Fit” Books
  2. Students must read daily:
  • Grades K-1 15+ minutes daily
  • Grade  2 20+ minutes daily
  • Grades 2-5 30+ minutes daily
  1. Reading Logs- Signed daily by parents and        checked by teachers.

PTA News

UPCOMING this week from the PTA:

  • Don’t forget Wednesday is Walk/Bike to School Day. Find the balloon-marked stations on either side of the school for kids to get a treat for walking or biking to school! Also, wear your school colors!
  • PTA meeting Thursday right after school at 3:45pm in the Media Center/Library. See you there!

Week of September 30-October 4

Please have your child go onto Spelling iLearn at home to show you the activities that we do in class for spelling and how they did on their last spelling test. If students do not complete all assigned activities in class by Thursday, they MUST go onto Spelling iLearn at home to complete the activities by Friday. Otherwise, your child will clip down on Friday and complete the activities during recess.

Today is the End of Module 1 Test. As soon as it has been graded, it will be sent home.

Students should be completing a minimum of 2 lessons per week on Zearn.org. They are given plenty of time in class to complete these lessons. Students must go onto Zearn.org at home if they have not caught up in class.

This Thursday, October 3rd is the Snow PTA meeting which will be at 3:45 pm in the Media Center. All parents are invited to attend.

The 4th grade classes will be participating in a DTE Energy presentation on October 9th. All students will receive a FREE Energy Saving Kit to take home. If you do NOT want this FREE kit, please sign the opt out paper which will be sent home later this week.

Popcorn Day and Spirit Wear

Popcorn Day is this Friday. The cost is $0.50 per bag.

All Snow Spiritwear orders are due this Friday, September 27th. Extra order forms are in the office.

Week of September 23-27

Weekly Reading Logs must be filled in with the number of minutes read each week, signed by a parent, and returned every Monday. Students who do not return their signed Weekly Reading Log on Monday will walk the track during recess.

Parents must be signing their child’s Student Planner every night.

Reminder that this Wednesday, September 25th is a Late Start. The first bell will ring at 9:35 am.

Our first popcorn day is this Friday, September 27th. The cost is $0.50 per bag. Money is due by Friday morning.

Students should be going onto Zearn.org in school and at home. Please review with your child how to get onto Zearn.org. The goal is for students to complete 2 or more lessons per week.

Reading Bags will be coming home today. Students are expected to read the given book in their Reading Bags and complete the accompanying assignment each night. It is your child’s responsibility to take home their reading bag every night and return it the next day with the book and writing notebook.

NWEA reports will be sent home later this week. Review with your child where they scored in Reading, Math, and Language at the end of third grade and where they scored at the beginning of fourth grade. We will take the NWEA again in January and May.
