Field Day tomorrow

Just a reminder that Field Day is Friday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A few of the activities involve water, so it is suggested that your child bring an extra change of clothes in case they get too wet. Students should wear tennis shoes in order to participate. Other suggestions are a water bottle and sunscreen. It will be a fun day!

Return Spring Pictures

Thank you to the families that have already returned their Spring Pictures if they did not want them or the money to pay for the sheets that were kept.  Please make sure all remaining Spring Pictures are returned as soon as possible.  The deadline is this Wednesday.  Thank you:)

Thank you to all of the families that volunteered at last Friday’s Snow School picnic.  It was a huge success!

Our last Math Test on Unit 10 will be this coming Wednesday, June 4th.  It will cover the following:

*measuring to the nearest centimeter and 1/2 inch

*finding the perimeter of a shape

*review of 3-digit  by 1-digit multiplication

*making a frequency chart with tally marks

*making a line plot

*finding the median (middle number) and mode (most frequent number) in a set of data

Today is the PBIS party for May.  Students who received 3 card flips or less and no office discipline referrals will be invited to the party.  It will be ice cream sundaes and extra recess.

Friday, June 6th will be Field Day in the afternoon for grades 3-5.  Wear gym shoes in order to participate.

Water Fun thank you’s

Thank you to the Gerlach family and the Serazio family for donating items for our “Water Fun” raffle basket.  The basket will look great for this Friday’s Snow School picnic due to all of the wonderful donations!

Thank you to the Watt family for donating to our Snow School picnic “Water Fun” basket.  The baskets need to be turned in tomorrow for the PTA members to organize before the picnic this coming Friday.  If you have any last minute donations, please send them to school tomorrow.

Spring Pictures are coming home today.  If you do NOT wish to purchase the pictures, simple RETURN the entire set of pictures to school.  Otherwise, see the instructions inside on how to pay for the items you want to keep.

Thank you to the Attard family for donating items to our “Water Fun” raffle basket!  We are still in need a LOTS of donations.  The PTA will be organized the raffle baskets next week, so we’re asking for all donations to be brought in no later than Tuesday, May 27th.

Thank you to the Ruesch family for donating ice cream for “Ice Cream” day last Friday.  It was delicious!

Reminder that tomorrow is our field trip to the Detroit Historical Museum.  We will leave around 9:00 and return no later than 2:30.  Please make sure to send a packed lunch to school with your child to eat at the museum.

Science Fair Projects are due tomorrow (Tuesday, May 20th).  Please send all poster boards and written packets/logs to school with your child tomorrow.  The Science Fair will be open for parents and families to attend in the evening starting at 6:00.  We will also have our Family Ice Cream Social in the cafeteria.  Please stop by and enjoy the wonderful science experiments and ice cream!

The Snow School Picnic is scheduled for Friday, May 30th.  This can only happen with the wonderful volunteers that help with set up, running activities, and clean up.  The PTA is looking for more volunteers.  Please visit the website to sign up to help:

Unit 9 Math Test scheduled for Monday

The Unit 9 Math Test is scheduled for Monday, May 19th.  Below is a list of the concepts students will be tested on:

*Story problems that involve multiplication

*Multiplication using partial products and lattice method

*Multiplication number models with parentheses

*Review of ordering fractions from smallest to largest (may use fraction cards)

*Review of perimeter and area

*Review of estimating money to the nearest ten cents

Students are encouraged to bring home their Math Journals, Math Notebooks, Student Reference Books, and using the online component (www.everydaymathonline.com) to help study for the test.
