Write your spelling words with sidewalk chalk, crayons or markers.  Make it fun.
If you have playdough you could spell your words using playdough.
Math:Complete one Zearn lesson. 
Solve the following word problem with a picture, number sentence, and a statement with your answer: 

Tom plants 5 seeds in his garden.  Ali plants 6 seeds.  Jacob plants 4 seeds.  How many seeds did they plant in all?

Main Idea=What is the story mostly about.

Virtual Lesson-Possessive nouns
Long e spelling using ee and ea pattern.

Have someone give you a practice test.  Any words you have trouble with write five times.

Before starting the lesson you will need: 40 small objects.  I suggest using pennies, but anything small will work.  Paper and Pencil
White board and marker if you have them.  (optional)

Below the video there is a link to download the problem set.  You don’t have to print.  Just write the answers on paper. Also you don’t have to do all the problems. You can do them all if you want or if you need more practice. In the video the teacher tells you which ones to work on.

Beth has 13 flowers in her garden.  Kate has 8. How many more flowers does Beth have then Kate?

Have a parent give you the spelling test on a seperate sheet of paper.  How did you do?

Writing:
Design a t-shirt that you would like to wear. 
Draw a sketch of your shirt first.
Then write at least 5 sentences to describe it.  What colors are on it? Any pictures or words?
Sight Words:Practice your sight word flashcards with someone.  Put the words that were a bit slower in a separate pile and practice them again.

Science:
If you did not complete the science activity from yesterday, finish it today. The link to the video is on yesterday’s lessons.

Remember to take a picture of all your work and send it to me so I can grade it.

Anton made a tower of 5 cubes.  Ben made a tower of 12 cubes. Who has more?  How many more?  
Writing:
Write about your favorite part of the school day. Give a clear topic sentence, at least 2 reasons with details and adjectives, and a clear conclusion.
Science:Click on the link below and watch the Mystery Science video.  There is an experiment and questions. The experiment asks you print out two pages.  If you do not have a printer, use a toy and a blank piece of paper. Write the answers to the questions on a piece of paper. Answer the questions in your notebook and send the to me on remind.

Writing:Write about a time you wanted to hide.  Be sure to share all the details.

Study sight word cards.  See how many words you can read in a minute.
Social Studies:
A timeline is a group of events put in order on a line.  
Make a timeline of your life.  Include at least 5 events. You can draw a picture and write a sentence for each event.

Online Directions

When joining a Google Hangouts video chat meeting from a Chromebook or computer, your child must first be logged in to their Dearborn Public School District email.  After they have logged in to their email, you will open a new tab or window to get to Google Hangouts. The specific directions are below:

STUDENT DIRECTIONS FOR ASSESSING EMAIL:

  1.  Go to www.dearbornschools.org homepage. 

*Use Google Chrome. 

Safari, Firefox, & Internet Explorer will not work for Google Hangouts.

  1. Click on Student Portal.
  2. Under “Useful links,” click on Student District Email/Google Login.
  3. Enter your child’s email username and password. (This is the same information they use to log on to their Chromebooks at school, most students have these numbers memorized.)  Message your child’s teacher if you need this information.

STUDENT DIRECTIONS FOR GOOGLE HANGOUT:

  1. You must be logged in to your school account (Dearborn Schools).
  2. In a web browser, enter https://meet.google.com.
  3. Click Join a meeting.
  4. Enter the meeting nickname that your child’s teacher assigned.

*If you are going to use a phone to join our Google Hangouts session, you have to download the Hangouts Meet APP prior to the session.

Google Hangouts Rules (please go over these with your child before our first session)

  1.  Be prepared and on time.
  2. Turn on your camera.  Remember, we can see you so dress appropriately!
  3. Raise your hand and wait to be called on when you want to speak.
  4. Avoid acting silly and being a distraction to others.
  5. Use the chat only to ask important questions.
  6. Use appropriate , kind, and respectful words.  This is still a classroom!
