I just wanted to remind everyone that there is no school on Monday.   Remember to read. Our spelling pattern is ing this week so you could get a head start practicing.

I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation spending time with your family. I spent a week up north in the snow. Cold but fun.

I am excited to see everyone back at school tomorrow at 8:00a.m.   Remember to send homework packets, reading bags, and folders to school.  Also please send your child dressed for the weather with hats and gloves.  Get a good nights sleep.

I hope everyone is enjoying your break. Please remember to work on your packets. We will be taking NWEA tests when we return so remember to use the NWEA RIt practice and mobymax found on the dearborn website under clever. Your child’s login is his or her student number and the password is his or her birthday .  remember to have fun with your family.  Family experiences are priceless.  Enjoy your break!!

Good evening everyone.  We had so much fun today. We sang carols in the lobby this morning and decorated cookies this afternoon. The children were so creative!!  Check your child’s folder because I sent home holiday homework. Please remember to read with your child over break so they will be ready when we return on January 9, 2017.

Permission slips for our first field trip went home today. On December 9th, Friday, we will be going to Cherryhill lanes.  Forms and payment are due Monday.   

We are working on sh endings for spelling.  Play around with the sh chunk and see how many words you can make.  In science we are still working on weather.  Let your students listen for the temperature in the mornings.  In social studies we are working on goods and services and past, present and future.  In math we are still exploring subtraction problems. They can be tricky.  Also we have been reviewing building 2 digit numbers with base ten blocks.  (tens and ones)

Friday is pizza for snack day.  We are only selling pizza.  No chips or juice.  This fundraiser will help reduce the cost of our first grade field trip coming up soon.
