Material Pick Up

Our day to pick up materials from school is Thursday, June 4th, between 12pm and 2pm. Please follow the directions to make sure the process goes safely and smoothly.

  1. Stay in your car.
  2. Put your reading bag and library books in the trunk of your car.
  3. When you arrive at the school I will be sitting outside the first grade door. The one with the flag pole.
  4. Pull up in your car and pop the trunk. If your child is not with you please have their name and line order number written with a dark marker on a piece of paper and hold it up. If your child is with you I can see who it is.
  5. I will take out your reading bag and library books and put in your bag of things in the trunk.
  6. I can’t wait to see everyone on Tlhursday.

Spelling: gown  down  clown  pout  shout  sprout  house  mouse  does  another

Practice your spelling words in a fun way.  Use playdough, sidewalk chalk or legos.  Use whatever you have at home.  Be creative and have fun!

What is needed to have a fun summer? Write an informational essay explaining at least 3 things needed to have a fun and exciting summer. Include details about each thing and why it is important.
Sight Words:Have someone test you on your sight words.  Count how many sight words you read quickly.  Tell your teacher how many you read.

1. Look at your family members. Who do you look like? Give examples: My dad and I both have blue eyes.
2. How are you different from your family members? Give examples: My dad and I have different shaped eyes. My dads are rounder than mine.

Write the characters and setting.

Pick at least four spelling words and write a strong ready for second grade sentence for each word. 
Include an adjective in each sentence. Remember, an adjective is a describing word like gigantic or funny.

Write an opinion piece that supports your opinion. Make sure you have at least 3 reasons!
Sight Words:Practice your sight word flashcards with someone. Put the words that were a bit slower in a separate pile and practice them again.

Thursday 5/28-Make sure to send me how many sight words you were able to read yesterday. Many did not send that info yesterday. The sight words are in your blue folder.
