Monday, April 13
Hello everyone! Welcome back!
I hope that you had a good Spring Break. My family usually goes out of town somewhere, but of course we did not this year. I suspect that most of you were not doing what you normally would either, but hopefully not having any schoolwork for 9 days was nice.
So, what is going on with school? You may be asking yourself this question. As your teacher, I can tell you honestly – I do not know. I do know that administration has worked hard over the break to come up with a plan to introduce “new learning” for the rest of the year instead of “enrichment”. I believe that plan is complete, but it has not been communicated to teachers yet. We were told that the plan needs to be approved by Wayne RESA before being implemented to make sure that you all get credit for your work. The tentative start day of new learning is April 20 – one week from today. During this week, teachers will be informed of the plan and will get ready to do whatever we need to to ensure that you get a quality education this semester. So, more details to come…
In the meantime, we will be continuing with what we have been doing. For ELA 6, that means wrapping up Frederick Douglass. For ELA 8, we will try to finish up The Kite Runner. For E2020, you can pick up where you left off if you took a break last week.
Please check your Google Classroom for details on today’s work.
Have a great day!
