Monday, May 4

Good morning everyone!

Just an FYI, I sit at my computer from about 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Last week, I received 3 student e-mails during that time. From Friday evening to way into Sunday night, I received 25 student e-mails. If you chose to do all of your work on the weekend, that is fine, but I am not working on the weekend at this time. It is really not a problem, but please be patient. If you send an e-mail at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, just know that it will be answered sometime on Monday.

*Most of the questions I am getting are very basic questions about what to do for the assignment. It is fine to work on the weekend, but your weekly assignments are posted on Mondays. It would be great (for both of us) if you would at least look at the assignment and what it entails sometime during the week. That way, if you have a question about how to begin, I can answer it promptly and you will be ready to go when you sit down to do it. If it is Sunday at midnight and you are not sure how to get started, I will not be able to help you at that time.

**The rest of the questions are about grades. You all really need to CHILL about your grade! I know that sounds crazy coming from a teacher, but the gradebook is not “normal” right now. Please use the gradebook as a checklist of what needs to be turned in. You will have to trust the system. You were all sent the district guidelines on grading during this time, but I suspect many of you did not read them. If you do, it may ease your mind a bit.

Your assignment for the week will be posted shortly in your Google Classroom. I will be looking through all of your emails and starting to grade last week’s work as well throughout the day.
