Monday, April 20
Good morning and happy Monday to you. As you may have heard, the plan is in place for the rest of the school year. Here is a video that Principal Alcodray asked me to share with you:
So, basically, your grade will consist of submitting assignments and attending Google meetings. Here is the schedule:

So, on Mondays, all of your teachers (including myself), should be at their computers should you need help with anything. All of your assignments (for all classes) should be posted by around 10:00 a.m. on Monday, so these Monday office hours should be good if you have questions about what you need to do for the week.
On Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., 1st hour is up. That is ELA 8 with me. You will be given a Google Meet code or invitation to join at that time. Attendance will be taken.
Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. 4th hour will meet. Same thing, you will get a Google Meet code or invite before the meeting. Attendance will be taken.
Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. will be the 6th hour meetings. Same deal.
*E2020 – 5th hour* We are not required to meet. I may do something else because I would like to check in with you, but it will not be a weekly requirement for your grade like the other hours.
Here you can read the district’s general expectations for these meetings. The same rules apply that would in class.

Generally speaking, you will be receiving your assignments on Mondays and they are due the following Sunday. This way, you can budget your time how you see fit. It will average out to about 30 minutes of work per day for your ELA class. Just keep in mind that if you plan to do it all on Sunday, it could take you up to 2.5 hours to do in one sitting.
As always, you can contact me anytime (not just office hours). Email is the best way – sharbas@dearbornschools.org. Also, commenting on the assignment posts in the Google Classroom is a great way to get specific work questions answered.
Most emails I get from students come between the hours of 10:00 pm – 5:00 am, so those I will get to the next day 😉
If you are just now checking in to school for the first time since March, my blog is where you will find general information posted daily. I suggest checking here first. For the particulars of your assignments for the week, you will find all of the details posted in your particular Google Classroom (still working on today’s, it will be up shortly if it is not yet).
