Attendance – Please read

Thank you for your child’s participation in Secondary Honors Choir.  They have been an important part of our group this year.
I would like to remind everyone that Secondary Honors Choir is a full year commitment from September through May. We plan our year and performances based on our enrollment and singers.  The expectation is that students will remain committed to the group and to one another for this time.
As parents, one of our jobs with our middle school aged children is to teach the value of commitment and perseverance.
Our choir is exactly like a sports team, we prepare together, work together and perform together. When some team members leave suddenly to go try another activity, our team is left in a very difficult position.  It’s like trying to prepare for a big game and then only half of our team shows up.  As parents, when we allow this to happen, the value of commitment is not learned.  I commend the students and parents who are showing commitment and coming to rehearsals and growing as a choir.  This is a wonderful lesson for your children.
For those students who have had irregular attendance or are “trying” other activities, I encourage all of you to think about the commitment you made first to Secondary Honors Choir.
We need our team.
See you Thursday.
Ms. Pegouske
