Do you think video games rot kids’ brains? I think video games can do damage to the brain. In my opinion they can be harmful because they can promote violence, slow kids learning, and they can harm the hippocampus part of the brain. Now, I will justify my reasons.
My first reason is video games can promote violence. In the article Do Video Games Rot Your Brain? Margaret Buckler says, “To many studies, violent video games can increase aggressive behavior.” For instance, kids being violent at school could lead to being suspended or expelled.
Now for my second reason. They are slowing kids’ learning. According to ms.Buckler,” The constant need to play video has had negative, unhealthy effects on children. These effects can slow students education”. For example, if kids aren’t doing their work this could cause getting held back a grade.
My last reason is that they can damage the most important part of the nervous system. Margaret Buckler says, ”Playing shooter games can harm the hippocampus part of the brain, killing brain cells.” For starters, if you play too much video games you could experience memory loss.
To conclude, video games can do damage to the brain. They can cause aggressive behavior, kill peoples brain cells, and they can also slow kids learning. That’s why I think they are bad for the brain.
Great work, Lil!
