A Trip to the Movies by Orion Turovaara, 3rd grade

Yay! My dad is taking Cayden and I to the theater. This is a time I went to the theater to see The Grinch.

It all began when I waited in line to buy tickets to see The Grinch. When I got to the doors I was kind of nervous and excited at the same time. My dad took me to this big line for tickets. “What are those tickets for dad?” I asked curiously. I looked up and bright lights struck down on my eyes. “Ouch,” I screamed. An employee asked us, “What movie are you seeing?” “The Grinch,” I said. She asked us for $5. My dad handed her the $5, and she smiled. I was so excited because it looked like fun. The smell of the popcorn made my stomach growl. The place looked so big. It looked like heaven.

After that, I got something to fill me up at the snack bar. My dad went to this small counter with a rack of candy and a fridge of drinks. My dad bought popcorn with a large soda for each of us. I asked Cayden, “Do you want to put butter and salt on the popcorn?” We went up to this counter and saw the popcorn popping. The bright lights were still hurting my eyes.

At last we watched the movie. My dad went up to the employee,  and he gave us 3D glasses. We had to try and find a door that says “The Grinch.”  We found the door, opened it, and we went up the ramp. We sat down in our seats. The speakers kicked on, and the screen got bright. The movie speakers were really loud. It hurt my ears. We watched the movie and enjoyed our snacks.

As I was walking out, I was so bummed because we had to leave. I hoped we could come again when some other cool movie comes out. I had a great time with Cayden and my dad at the movie theater.
